STEARNS VISITS ALL COUNTIES IN NEW DISTRICT 3

MEETS WITH SUPPORTERS AND ELECTED AND OTHER OFFICIALS OFFERING HIS EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP

JULY 9, 2012 – Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL) pledged to visit all new seven counties in Congressional District 3; Dixie, Lafayette, Suwannee, Columbia, Hamilton, Madison, and Union; and he completed these visits during the district work period, finishing in Union County.  Under recent redistricting, Stearns already represents nearly 70 percent of those in District 3 and he is introducing himself in the new areas.  Said Stearns, “In talking with the residents of these counties I’m hearing that they have heard my radio ads stressing my conservative values and they know my strong record of support for the agricultural community.  I’m also letting them know of my vote to prevent the estate tax that would hit farmers and ranchers trying to keep their land in family hands, as well as my support for preventing the import of tainted produce from China and other countries.”

These seven counties are predominately rural with agricultural issues of great concern.   The American Farm Bureau Federation and the Florida Farm Bureau regularly honor Stearns with their Friend of Farm Bureau Award for his exemplary voting record on agricultural issues.
